The amount of information available on a UK business will depend on its status. If the business is a Limited company, then a credit status report can include an analysis of the financial status of the company as revealed in its most recently filed accounts. If the business is a new company which has yet to file accounts, or the business is not a Limited company, then no accounts can be analysed. In the case of firms which are not Limited companies, these are not required by law to file any accounts for public inspection. Where no accounts are available, a credit check will include background information about the business, and any adverse credit records or court actions against the business.
